Welcome to HALLAMSHIRE GOLF CLUB
Thank you for logging on to the website of Hallamshire Golf Club, whose course has been recently described by the national magazine Golf World as “A Hidden Gem of Yorkshire.”
We welcome visitors to come and see for themselves why our Colt-designed course has been so highly rated by the media and by players of all abilities. We also welcome applications for membership – enquiries to the Secretary.

You will find some of the best maintained greens in the UK and views over the heather-clad Peak District moors that are the envy of many. We have over the past few years been engaged in various course developments. Past visitors might be encouraged to return by the fact that we have greatly reduced the rough alongside the fairways. We have done this by a sustained programme during the last few winters of ripping out Yorkshire Fog grass to encourage the finer grasses. This has been very successful as it means far fewer lost balls, speedier play, and more feasible recovery shots. The course remains challenging but less punishing to medium and high handicappers. Come and join us and enjoy the Hallamshire experience.
